In May 2023, I traveled with my family and boyfriend to Los Cabos, Mexico to attend a wedding. We spent a total of 6 days visiting Pueblo Bonito resorts in Los Cabos, sightseeing, and eating Mexican food. On the 2nd day, we visited the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Resort as a Malvila at Quivira guest.

Breakfast

In the morning, I woke up at 9am to make breakfast tacos for my family. Because the kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, pots and pans, and silverware, I was able to cook breakfast. Since we went shopping at Walmart yesterday, I made scrambled eggs and sausage with a side of corn tortillas and salsa verde.

After breakfast, we drove to Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort*. When we reached the main gate, an employee waved us in. We found parking easily in the main parking lot. As we were walking up to the front entrance, we saw a bird cage full of green and yellow birds. They were very pretty. After taking a few pictures of the bird, we proceeded into the lobby.

In the lobby, there were a lot of people wearing wristbands. We asked the concierge if we needed a wristband, but she said that wasn’t necessary and if anyone asked us we can tell them that we are staying at the Malvila community.

We looked at the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort map and saw they had several pools available.

We decided to visit the main pool, which was a swimming pool by the beach. We saw a road going to the pool, which we thought was for cars. We weren’t sure how long the walk was going to be to visit the pool, so we stopped by the market area to view the merchandise. To our surprise, we saw people getting picked up by a golf cart. We asked the driver if we needed to pay to ride the golf cart and he mentioned it was free for all guests. Then, we waited in line and 5 minutes later, a golf cart came and took us to the main pool. The golf cart driver drove very fast. We reached the main pool in only 4 minutes!

Main Pool: Swimming Pool by the Beach

The main pool’s crowd was a mix of adults and children. More adults than children. There were plenty of places to sit, so we found an empty pool chair easily. After a couple of minutes of lounging, we jumped into the pool feet first. It was really COLD. Now, I knew why people weren’t jumping in the pool. But once I put my head under water, the water didn’t feel as cold anymore.

We spent about an hour at the pool, before drying off and visiting the beach.

Beach

We noticed there weren’t any people swimming in the ocean. It was very windy and the waves were very rough, so we weren’t planning on swimming in the ocean either. Then we noticed there were black flags, which indicated that the water was at the most dangerous level.

After the beach, we headed back to the main lobby to get ready for a family dinner. Instead of taking the golf cart back, me and my boyfriend thought it would be a good idea to take the stairs. It was not a good idea. There were so many stairs and the temperature was too high for this walk. Halfway up, I ran out of breath. Then my boyfriend said we were almost there, so I persevered and kept going. He was right. We reached the top a minute later and then struggled to find the main lobby. Eventually, we found the main lobby and proceeded back to the parking lot.
